New Business Name for South Hope Cabinetry

Custom corner cabinet built for Janice Stone Interiors in Belfast, Maine.

South Hope Cabinetry started up in 2007 by local Hope resident Chris Wellman.  Since 2007 he's been renting shop space in Camden.  He chose to rent at first because he was uncertain of how well his business was going to do.   Despite the poor economy  business has been fairly consistent for the past 4 years.

About a year ago Chris decided to build a woodworking shop on his property in Hope. This decision is triple-fold.  It eliminates rental expenses, increases his property value, and most importantly gives him his own shop where he can work around the clock in close proximity to his family.

The process began by Chris clearing some land.  He cut down approximately 100  trees off the property where the shop is built.  He did most of the construction by himself and with the help of some generous family members.  Considering that the shop was built on a part-time basis with minimal help it was done fairly quick.  As of today the shop is up and running and how sweet it is.

As a result of the new shop Chris decided to change the name of the business from South Hope Cabinetry to Buzzell Hill Woodworking and Design. The new name suites his business because his shop is on Buzzell Hill Road and it incorporates the fact that he designs and can build anything that is made out of wood - not just cabinets.

Most of Buzzell Hill Woodworking and Design costumer's come from word of mouth - referrals from other satisfied customers.  However, in attempt to expand his customer base he started investing some money into advertising on villagesoup.com and about a month ago he built a website.  Chris is taking some major financial risks in hopes that his un-found talent will be found which will in turn expand his customer base.
