Learn about the iPad and the “MAC family” just in time for the holidays

Belfast.   Are you wondering if this is the right time to purchase an iPad?  Have you wondered what is an iPad and what the heck can it do, and why all the commotion?   Come for a fun and interactive look at the wonders of the “MAC family” devices and gizmos

The UMaine Hutchinson Center is offering a FREE workshop on Thursday, December 15 from 10 am to 12 noon.   In this lively introductory workshop (an ideal introduction to her upcoming class, Art 272: Digital Imaging), instructor and professional photographer Jennifer Smith-Mayo will highlight some iPad basics such as: Navigation, key features, apps, suggested uses, best practices, the relationship between the iPad, iPod, iPhone, and iMac, some differences between the iPad and Kindle, and more!

Jennifer Smith-Mayo is a professional photographer and co-author with her husband, writer Matthew P. Mayo, of the recently published book, Maine Icons: 50 Classic Symbols of the Pine Tree State. Her work is regularly featured in Down East Magazine and has also appeared in Big Sky Journal, Western Art & Architecture, National Geographic, the New York Times, and Wine Spectator.  She holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in New Media, works for a Los Angeles-based film production company, and is an instructor for Senior College and an adjunct instructor for the University of Maine Hutchinson Center. She makes her home in Northport.
