Tutoring sessions at Portland Pupils, the area’s largest tutoring service, meet for a recommended five to six weeks prior to the SAT test date. Every week students spend 60 minutes on math and 60 minutes on the verbal sections of reading and writing on two separate days. Some students work on both subjects and some choose only the area in which they need extra help.
“I think learning things to watch out for on the test will boost my score. I have a checklist that I go through in my head while doing the writing section.”
Portland Pupils offers small group and individual instruction for preparation for all standardized tests. Tutors have years of experience with SATs, SAT IIs, ACTs and other national exams. Each student can choose the combination, length and number of sessions that works best for him or her.
