15th Sunday of Pentacost to be Celebrated at John Street United Methodist Church September 15

WORSHIP at 10:30 am, 98 John Street, Camden, ME

Please plan to worship with us on September 25, the 15th Sunday of Pentacost, as we listen to Scripture from Psalm 78:1-4 in the Old Testament, and from Matthew 21:23-32 in the New Testament.  We will also hear reflections on the readings to help us understand the message.

The Season of Pentacost began in June, 50 days after Passover, and will conclude with the Feast of Kings Sunday in NovemberIf we read our Sunday bulletins carefully, we will learn that during this Season, we are learning "to share the Good News of Christ's love with the world of Education, Recreation, Economics, Politics, Family, Neighborhoods and all the Rest."

According to sundayschoollessons.com, "Christians spend the Season of Pentecost looking at the relationship of God with His people as they experience his Holy Spirit. It is a time of outreach, and a time of letting the Spirit flow through each Christian to touch God's creation. Christians go to camp during Pentecost in order to appreciate God's beautiful world. It is also the time they begin to keep their confirmation promise of going into the world to make disciples of all nations.

"Pentecost is a time of praise, of fellowship, and of spiritual renewal, as each Christian draws the Spirit into himself or herself with every breath."

We are blessed to have Silvia Sayers, on the organ and piano, and Bob Smith, on the guitar, offer their musical talents for our services.  Silvia also directs the chancel choir.

Fellowship time follows the service.
