Cuts with a Cause.
51inches of hair was donated to Locks of Love by 4 ladies. On Saturday 10/22/11 Visual Changes Salon in Rockland held an event which was a challenge by radio talk show host Ginger Wilson of “Ordinary People” which airs Tuesdays at 11am on 93.3fm WRFT-LP Rockland.
Locks of Love is an organization that makes custom wigs for children with hair loss from cancer or other conditions. Visual Changes is a registered salon who will cut your hair for free, if you are donating 10 or more inches. The free cut is a straight blunt cut, but for a limited time, they will cut your hair into any style you choose for free.
Those who had their hair cut was, Ginger Wilson & her teenage daughter Danielle Wilson of Belfast, they both had 10” cut to donate. Leigh Smith of Camden had 12” cut. This was her 3rd time donating her hair for the cause while in her 60’s. We also had a lady drop off a cut braid of hair for the donation from 80 year old Barbara Ellis of Rockland, she had 19” cut.
Stylist donating there time was Karen Grierson, Becky Heal, & Mercedes Rich, all from Visual Changes Salon. Ginger also is treating the ladies who donated hair to a free lunch. Karen will be mailing all the hair donations in together, and each donor will be receiving a personalized thank you note from Locks of Love.
