MSR Photos has been around Maine for 11 years and has grown steadily each year through the efforts of its owners and the readers who have shown great support over the years. We specialize in action photography and team & individual photography for leagues and schools.

We are a fully digital company using Nikon and Cannon equipment and have the ability to transmit on site when doing freelance work for newspapers with deadlines.

The People that make it run:
Ron: I am a photographer, writer and coach.

I am the original founder of Maine Sports Report. The site was started in 2001 because I could not get the local newspaper to cover the JV baseball team I was coaching. They did not cover JV games was the response I received. So I put up a web site for my baseball team and the next thing I knew I was out covering other games that were not being covered. As it grew I began to see the potential and over the last 10 years we have seen some drastic changes to what and how sports are covered.

This is the greatest job in the world. I go watch young athletes compete, take photos and write a story. Life is good.
Photography is my passion, when I have my camera in hand I usually have a smile on my face.

Skip: Skip Hawkes is a sports enthusiast and my photography allows me to be around a variety of sports from Little League up through college sports. I enjoy being around the young athletes. It keeps me feeling young, and the majority of kids I photograph love seeing their photos on the web. Being able to do what I enjoy most, taking photographs, makes it a joy to get up every morning and look to see what is on the schedule for that day. It doesn't get any better than that!! Now in my sixth year with Maine Sports Report, I thank my brother Ron for bringing me on board and giving me the opportunity to make photography my passion!

When away from sports both Ron & Skip enjoy shooting a variety of different subjects, from portraits to weddings, to nature, landscape and especially people.

Both of us have been avid photographers most of our lives and have been professional photographers for over 10 years now.
