Girl Scout Troop 1834 will be holding a yard sale on Saturday August 14, 2010.  All proceeds will benefit the girls on their trip to the birth place of Juliette Low, the founder of Girl Scouts.

March 12, 1912 marks the first troop registered for Girl Scouts.  The troop included 18 young girls from all backgrounds and allowed these young girls the opportunity to develop such important life skills such as self-reliance and resourcefulness.  Juliette Low encouraged young girls to prepare for the home and professional life.  From the original 18 girls, Girl Scouts has grown to include 3.7 million members nationwide.

Please help these young girls of troop 1834 reach their goal.  Much can be learned from visiting the home place of Juliette Low, a place that allows such a strong sense of accomplishment, determination, and community support.

The yard sale will be held at 337 Limerock Street in Rockland from 9 am to approximately 2 pm.
