The Midcoast Warriors Basketball Club of Rockland will hold tryouts Monday Feb. 13 at Point Lookout in Northport from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for all seventh grade girls. Sign up will be from 5:30 – 6 and tryouts from 6-7:30 pm.

All players that try out will be placed on a team providing enough players try out. We will be choosing one AAU team and as many travel teams as the numbers allow.

The Midcoast Warriors Basketball Club is in its fifth year of operation here in the Midcoast. Since our inception, the Warriors have been an AAU club. With the 7th grade this year we will start our expansion so that everyone has an opportunity to play. Starting next season all teams will have tryouts on a yearly basis.

The cost to play on any club team is $300 for the entire season. That includes any tournaments and Fall Ball from Sept, 1, 2011 – Aug. 31, 2012 as well as a uniform.

The AAU team will play from sometime in February through the end of April. The travel teams will play from sometime in February – the end of March. We will end in time for spring sports. The AAU teams play all over the state while the travel teams will play more local tournaments and a few away games to Waterville and South.

If there is not a strong enough turnout for an AAU team we will place all players on travel teams.

The Midcoast Warriors are also searching for coaches for 7th grade teams and for a high school team that will be holding tryouts soon.
