The news around town this past week has not been good. Marilyn Bridges passed away the night of February 2 in the Hospice Unit in the Waldo County Hospital in Belfast. Marilyn fought the hard battle against Cancer for the past two years and was very pleased that she lived long enough to see her new Granddaughter. Visiting hours were held last night, February 9, followed by a gathering of Family and Friends at the Prospect Community Center. There was an abundance of food, which was good as there were so many people there and it was at supper time, so they didn't have to worry about food being left over. At one o'clock today, Marilyn will be buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery, leaving her family and friends to start healing.

Judy Pickering, twin sister of Janice Moody, was also a patient that the Waldo County Hospital because of pain and problems walking. Tests were run and it was determined that Judy had more than arthritis but fractured hip, so she was operated on and a rod was put into her leg. They realized after the operation that Judy needed to go to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for further tests has Cancer was suspected. There, it was determined after tests and x-rays that she indeed did have Fourth stage cancer. They had planned to start radiation on the tumor in her brain, but that was postponed as they discovered they had to operate on her other hip and put a pin in it due to a fracture as the cancer is also in her bones, lymph nodes, lungs, liver and brain. The doctors prognosis is weeks or maybe months. Please say a Prayer for the comfort of Judy and also of her large family.

Regardless of the cold weather now, I still believe we will have an early Spring. The Flies and Lady Bugs are crawling around everywhere. Last Monday, we had 25+ Robins under an old Apple tree at the corner of our driveway. Also, 2 Purple Finches were at our feeder and an Adult Bald Eagle was soaring around back field, I am sure it was looking for prey.

February 21 at 6:30 PM in the Town Office there will be a hearing for a Grant Application for the Marsh School House foundation. This application will be made to the Community Development Block Grant for funds that will have to be matched by the town for this project.

We are getting ready for the Benefit Spaghetti and Meatball Supper, this coming Saturday night and do hope that this snowstorm will either miss us or end early in the morning. This is by donation at the door for the benefit of the Emergency Heating Fund. We are all in the same situation of high heating bills, but still manage to help out people with emergency heating. If you out of oil or close to it and could use some help paying for it. This is the purpose of the Prospect Community Concerns for help in this situation. You may call Barbara at 567-3267 or cell phone 299-4888 on Jen McVeigh at 56731704 information.

I want to wish you all a safe and healthy week, and please remember those that need a card or a prayer, especially Judy, her family and family Marilyn Bridges. God Bless You all.
