Tuesday, Feb. 7, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the selectmen will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

Friday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to moon, Waldo County will hold an open house at the new Sheriff's Office/EMA building located next to the 911 dispatch center (Miller Street) and behind the old Sheriff's Office (Congress Street) on what is known as Public Safety Way in Belfast.

Saturday, Feb. 11, from 1-3 p.m., the First Congregational Church of Searsport will be hosting a Valentine Chocolate Fest to benefit the Interfaith Fuel Fund. A special basket raffle and a donation box will also be available. Other area churches will be contributing to this event.

Saturday, Feb. 11, starting at 5 p.m., the Searsport United Methodist Church will be holding its monthly turkey supper. This is a buffet-style, all-you-can-eat turkey supper with all the trimmings, topped with your selection of homemade pies. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.

Monday, Feb. 13, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the Planning Board will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

Tuesday, Feb. 14, starting at 7 p.m., the Searsport Historical Society will hold its first monthly meeting of the new year in Curtis Hall on Church Street. The program, "Show & Tell," will be interesting and educational as everyone is asked to bring one or more items to display or discuss. A social period with refreshments to celebrate Valentine's Day will follow and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Sunday, Feb. 19, starting at 2 p.m., Searsport will hold its annual candidates night in Union Hall. Candidates for the two selectmen seats are Aaron Fethke, Joe Perry, Arthur Koch Jr., Travis Otis and Steve Tanguay. The candidate for the RSU 20 school board seat is Tony Bagley. Town Manager James Gillway will give the "State of the Town" address. People attending may write their questions and the moderator will present them to the candidates. This meeting will be televised.
