A poetry Shop Talk in Belfast

Belfast — The free public monthly lecture series at Old Professor’s Bookshop, 99 Main St., offers a Shop Talk for National Poetry Month Saturday, April 22, at 3 p.m.

Adrian Blevins, Associate Professor of English at Colby College, will present a talk titled Hither & Yon: Maine Poems From Away. Blevins is author of three poetry collections: the forthcoming “Appalachians Run Amok,” winner of the Wilder Prize; “Live from the Homesick Jamboree”; and “The Brass Girl Brouhaha,” winner of the Kate Tufts Discovery Award and the Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers Award. She also co-edited a book of essays, “Walk Till the Dogs Get Mean,” by emerging Appalachian writers.
