‘All at Sea’ reading, book signing
Searsport — Penobscot Marine Museum will host a reading and book signing with Dominick Jones, author of “All at Sea: Twenty Years at the Helm of Tall Ships,” Saturday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the museum’s Main Street Gallery, 40 East Main St./Route 1.
This true story offers the tale of falling in love with a woman who has five children and buying a square-rigged sailing barge for family vacations along the coast of England and France. The author recounts 20 years of hilarious, sometimes dangerous, adventures learning to sail the vessel and keep it afloat as they sail in and out of beautiful, charming European harbors.
The book event is free with gallery admission of $5, free for museum members and Searsport residents. For more information, call 548-2529 or visit penobscotmarinemuseum.org. The winter exhibit “Underfoot: Footwear, Hooked Rugs, In the Cellar and Below Decks” runs through Feb. 22.
