Americana, gypsy jazz for Summer Nights
Belfast — The seasonal Belfast Summer Nights outdoor concert series continues Thursday, Aug. 14, with Blue Northern and Gypsy Caravan. The bands will play from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the gazebo of Steamboat Landing, on the waterfront.
Blue Northern is a five-member acoustic Americana/country/bluegrass band that plays traditional, original and contemporary acoustic music. Gypsy Caravan features David Clarke on lead guitar, Dan Clarke on rhythm guitar and Ezra Rugg on acoustic bass.
The series is free, but donations are welcome to support it. Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets, picnics and dance shoes. For more information, call 322-7123. Upcoming Thursdays will feature: Aug. 21, Jim Dandy, on beaver Street; and Aug. 28, The Roustabouts on the downtown corner of High and Main streets.
