Annual ‘Radius’ call for art
Belfast — Åarhus Gallery has put out a call for art for its all-encompassing sixth annual “44N 69W: Radius Belfast" show. The exhibition, which celebrates and illuminates this vast creative community, will run March 6 through 30, with an opening reception Friday, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
This call is open to all residents of any age or training, from children to bigwigs, who make art or craft and live within a 30-mile radius of Belfast. Artworks must have been created within the last two years, but there are no specifications regarding the content of the works. Works in all media are welcomed, will be for sale and should be ready to hang. People may enter as many as three entries, with a maximum size of 30-inches each (including frame); all works will be shown at our discretion. There is a $10 entry fee per piece, three for $20; for children younger than 13, fee is $5 per piece.
Drop-off will be Thursday, Feb. 27, through Sunday, March 2, during regular business hours at Åarhus Gallery, 50 Main St. No mail entries will be accepted. Artists will receive 50 percent commission for the sale of their work. Åarhus will donate a portion of all proceeds to food banks within a 30-mile radius of Belfast. Unsold work must be picked up April 3 through 6.
