Are You A Cat Person? Come Help With T-N-R!

By Pope Memorial Humane Society Of Knox County | Nov 30, 2012

All friends of felines PLEASE be at PetQuarters on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 10-noon! Jess Williams, the Trap-Neuter Release Program Coordinator for Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County, will be there to answer questions about about free roaming cats in general and techniques, philosophy and logistics of the Trap-Neuter-Release program.

Learn how the TNR program works, and learn how to care for the homeless outdoor cats in your neighborhood. You may even be inspired to volunteer to be a caretaker or help to build feeding stations and shelters. There are many other ways to volunteer and be of service, including alerting the shelter of feral cat colonies in the towns of Rockland, Thomaston, Warren and Union.

For more information, please contact Jess at 608-2793 or PMHSKC, your community animal shelter at 594-2200.

I did this same program for about 3 years with James Hummer of Spruce Head Island and it was very rewarding. We volunteered for the PMHSKC. in conjunction with local veterinarians in our area. This is a very necessary program for cats for our area.
