Auditions for ‘Tintypes’ summer musical

May 11, 2017

Belfast — Cold Comfort Theatre will hold open auditions for “Tintypes: A Musical Revue” Sunday, May 21, from 2 to 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 95 High St. The session will be held upstairs; enter through the front door.

No preparation needed. Auditioners should come prepared to sing and go through a dance sequence. The show requires many singers and dancers and offers many solo numbers. There also is room for mimes and a large chorus. This is a story, told in song, of the great immigration to the United States from Europe in the late 1800s and early 1900s — as topical today as it was then. The company encourages diversity in age, gender and ethnicity.

Colin Graebert is the music and vocal director; Grant Richards, the choreographer; and Aynne Ames is stage director. Rehearsals are normally Sundays (staging and dance only); and Mondays and Tuesday evenings.

“Tintypes” will be performed in July, Thursdays through Saturdays with a Sunday rain date. Performance dates are July 20 through 22 (23 rain date) and July 27 through 29 (30 rain date). The show will be mounted in Wales Park at the top of Main Street.
