Avian Haven is one of the largest wild bird rehabilitation practices in New England, having treated more than 12,000 birds since 1999. 2012 was a record year: the center treated 1,571 birds from 124 species, from hummingbirds to bald eagles.As part of BGC’s 2014 Evening Programs Series: Wildlife Conservation in Maine at the Belfast Free Library, co-sponsored by the Belfast Garden Club and the Belfast Free Library, Avian Haven Executive Director Diane Winn will give a presentation in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library: at 106 High St., in Belfast. The program is free and open to the public.
