Liberty — A rollover crash on Back Palermo Road in Liberty Thursday, Jan. 9 left one man injured and caused debilitating damage to the vehicle involved.

According to the accident report at the Waldo County Sheriff's Office, Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Service personnel responded and examined 26-year-old Joseph Puterbaugh at the scene. The report showed Puterbaugh injured his head, suffering bruising and abrasions as a result of the accident, but did not specify whether Puterbaugh was transported to a hospital.

The report from Waldo County Sheriff's Deputy Jordan Tozier stated 21-year-old Terra Hernes of Livonia, Mich., was driving south on Back Palermo Road in a 2004 Jeep when she lost control on the ice and sand-covered road. The Jeep left the road on the right-hand side and rolled over after striking a snow bank. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to damage the accident caused to the driver's side, the report stated.

Hernes was not hurt, nor was a second passenger, 22-year-old Paul Simonetti.
