Belfast — The city was alive with the sounds of Celtic music, festive hoots and hollers and the blast of fireworks over the bay as the sixth annual Maine Celtic Celebration got underway over the weekend of July 20-22.

The weekend was filled with a host of events to keep locals and visitors busy, including a 5K, a dog show featuring Celtic breeds, the highland heavy games, Celtic-inspired music and of course, the U.S. National Cheese Roll Championships, which attracted quite a crowd to Belfast Common Sunday, July 22.
