Many attended Belfast Co-op's Customer Appreciation Day Aug. 20, which offered a barbecue, free samples from the store's vendors, raffles and desserts. Musical acts entertained and alternative health practitioners offered their services.

Proceeds from the event will go to local nonprofits Belfast Soup Kitchen, New Hope for Women, Camden Rockport Animal Rescue League, The Game Loft, Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association and Forgotten Felines.
