Belfast Garden Club plans holiday decorations

Nov 10, 2012

The Belfast Garden Club is preparing materials to decorate for the holidays. They plan to trim the tree in The Belfast Library’s Maud Gammans Room on a theme of music, in harmony with the piano that is housed there. The public is encouraged to help by bringing musically themed ornaments — either previously used ornaments ready for a new home, or newly created ornaments for the occasion — anytime before Wednesday, Nov. 28. There will be a box for collection of the ornaments in the Gammans Room.

The Garden Club plans to adorn a tree on the first floor of the library with a nature theme, and will add color to other areas of the city. A large wreath will be placed at the Grove Cemetery Chapel, and wreaths will be hung at the gardens managed by the club including the police station, lower Main Street public bathrooms (Water-Loo), public boat landing and others.
