Belfast headed to drama state finalSDHS named Class B alternate
Rockland — The 2013 Maine Drama Festival one-act play competition’s regionals were held March 8 and 9 at nine locations around the state. Belfast Area High School competed at Mount Desert Island High School and won first place in Class A, the class for schools with 550 or more students. The BAHS troupe will go to the Class A state finals Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23, at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport.
The other Midcoast schools competing did so at the Midcoast Regional, hosted by Oceanside High School in Rockland; Searsport District High School was named alternate in Class B at the Midcoast Regional — i.e., second place and the school that would go to the finals should the first place school be unable to.
Complete results for all participating local schools, including All Festival Cast and judges’ commendations, will be posted Sunday, March 10, as they become available from the Maine Drama Council. For more information on all the Midcoast shows, see the link below.
