Belfast makes way for party in the street
Belfast — High Street was the place to be Monday night, Aug. 5, for a wide variety of family-oriented activities including live music, face-painting, mechanical bull riding and high-flying attractions like bounce houses.
The city shut down High Street to traffic to transform the area into a veritable playground for party-goers of all ages, and the event included musical acts like the Rockland-based Breakers Jazz, the University of Maine at Machias Ukulele Club, a Soul Train-style routine and the reggae act CatchaVibe.
Families flocked to attractions like the rock climbing wall, the full-sized bungee trampoline, hula hooping, face-painting and other activities throughout the six-hour event.
The Belfast Street Party is presented by Our Town Belfast and sponsored by the City of Belfast, Front Street Shipyard and Camden National Bank.
