Belfast police responded to a 911 mental health call April 11, but upon arrival at the residence found a woman who had allegedly been injured in a fight with her partner, 41-year-old Robert J. Franco.

According to police reports, the couple had been in a verbal argument that escalated when Franco "moved her out of his way" by pushing her onto a bed. The woman was allegedly injured in the process when her foot and back struck a door frame.

She told police he also "made a fist with his pointer finger extended" and hit her in the face. Police reported a visible red mark on her left cheek.

Franco left the residence and walked across a field and up a hill. Police caught up and questioned him, then arrested him on a charge of domestic violence assault.

Franco is scheduled to appear in court May 9.
