Belfast pair arrested for selling bath salts to undercover agent
Lincolnville — Two Belfast residents were arrested by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and officers from the Waldo County Sheriff's Office after allegedly selling "bath salts" to an undercover agent in Lincolnville.
According to a news release from MDEA supervisor James Pease, at about 10:30 a.m., May 2, agents with MDEA and officers from the sheriff's office arrested Alicia Kinney, 30, of Belfast, and Terry Lawson, 39, of Belfast, in the parking lot of Lincolnville Beach.
Agents seized the bath salts and items used to smoke bath salts, which were hidden in a child’s back pack, according to Pease. Agents searched residences for both subjects in Belfast and seized other smoking devises for, various prescription pills and packaging of bath salts.
Both subjects where arrested and taken to Waldo County Jail. They were both charged with Trafficking Schedule W Drugs class B. Kinney was also charged with Violation of Bail as she was on bail for OUI. Lawson was bailed at $250 cash and Kinney was held without bail.
Bath Salts are selling for $175 to $200 for a quarter-gram in the Mid-Coast area, according to MDEA.
