Belfast woman arrested after threatening boyfriend with scissors, knife
Belfast — An argument between a Belfast couple escalated after the girlfriend allegedly threatened her boyfriend with a pair of scissors and a kitchen knife.
Belfast police officers charged Candice Elwell, 37, of Belfast, with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence assault following an argument with her boyfriend.
Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham said Elwell was arguing with her boyfriend who told Elwell he was going to “pack his bags and leave” when Elwell allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and threatened the man. The boyfriend was able to take the scissors from Elwell, who left the room briefly before returning with a kitchen knife, Cunningham said.
The boyfriend was also able to take the kitchen knife from Elwell without suffering any injuries.
