Belfast — A storm that passed through Belfast in the evening and early morning hours of Aug. 13 and 14 brought high winds that tore boats off of their moorings.

Harbormaster Kathy Pickering said several boats in the harbor were damaged by the storm, which had winds speeds of about 54 mph. In addition, Pickering said the tides were abnormally high at the same time.
