Broadreach names executive, development directorsElects new board member to fill unexpired term
Belfast — Broadreach Family & Community Services has named Gail Jones-Wilkerson executive director and Jayne Crosby Giles director of development, board of directors Chairman Sharon Goguen, M.Ed., announced Oct. 14.
Jones-Wilkerson joins Broadreach with more than 16 years of administrative experience in health and human service organizations, among them eight years as an executive director and chief operating officer for nonprofit health/behavioral health agencies with up to $12 million in annual revenues, including Spring Harbor Community Services in Westbrook and Easter Seals of Maine. Those agencies share missions similar to that of Broadreach in service to children, adults and families who face educational, emotional, economic and/or cognitive challenges.
The new executive director holds a BA in communications from St. Joseph's College, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class and currently is a candidate in the Master's of Healthcare Administration program.
Jones-Wilkerson comes to Belfast from Falmouth, where she and her family have lived for the past 20 years.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to support the great work that Broadreach is known for in the Midcoast region, and help the organization grow and serve even more individuals and families in the future," she said.
Crosby Giles most recently was chief executive officer of MaineStream Finance in Bangor, where she led a $7.5 million community development financial institution that provides residential mortgages and micro business loans to underserved communities.
Prior to that, she worked for 32 years in the banking industry, primarily in small business banking, and served as state representative for House District 43 (Belfast, Belmont and Northport) from 2006 to 2010.
Crosby Giles previously was a member of the Broadreach board of directors for six years. She holds a BA in economics from Wellesley College and graduated with honors from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. She and her husband Michael live in Belfast.
“I look forward to working with the community and members of the board and staff to develop the resources necessary for Broadreach to serve the present and future needs of our communities," Crosby Giles said.
Broadreach also announced that Joy A. Osterhout, MS, MCHES, of Augusta was elected to its board of directors at the board's Sept. 22 meeting. She is regional director of community health and wellness for both Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital.
In that capacity, she works directly with community health and wellness and access-to-care staff at each facility to ensure timely, accurate and accessible health education and resources focused on improving the health of people in the Midcoast community.
Osterhout will serve on the Broadreach development committee and will complete the term of former Broadreach Director Dan Bennett, who moved to Vermont last month. Her term expires in December 2018.
Broadreach Family & Community Services is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency serving individuals and families in Midcoast Maine. A Maine-licensed mental health provider, Broadreach offers behavioral health and case management services for all ages.
