Brooks man allegedly assaults woman as she is changing baby
Brooks — A Brooks man was arrested after police say he engaged in a physical altercation with a woman while she was attempting to change a baby's diaper Sunday night, May 11.
Kirston Lane, 37, of Brooks was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and domestic violence assault following the incident, which occurred at a residence on Pine Drive in Brooks at about 9 p.m.
Lt. Jason Trundy with the Waldo County Sheriff's Office said police went to the residence after a third party called to report Lane and the woman had been arguing and were in the midst of a physical altercation in close proximity to the infant, who was lying nearby.
"They were arguing, she was changing the baby," said Trundy. "He came in and ended up having a physical confrontation with her while she was there next to the baby."
The infant was not injured, and the woman did not require medical attention, Trundy said.
Lane is due to appear at 5th District Court in Belfast Tuesday, June 3.
