VARNEY LADIES FELLOWSHIP SPRING TAG SALE
The Varney Ladies Fellowship of Brooks Congregational Church will hold their Spring Yard Sale on Saturday, May 3rd, from 9 – 2 pm. The sale will be held at the Varney Memorial Building in Brooks. Items available are children’s clothing, toys, men’ and women’s clothing, hats, coats, dishes, knickknacks and much more. Baked goods will be available along with breakfast goodies and a light luncheon menu.
This is a major fundraiser for the ‘Fellowship’. Monies from this sale will go towards the purchase of kitchen and church items and contribute towards their yearly scholarship fund.
School Budget Meeting
for those of you who would like to attend the annual school budget meeting, mark your calendars for May 21 at the Mt. View Middle School Gym. The budget will be gone through one articae at a time just like a town meeting.
Get Well Ray
Ray Qumiby had a knee replacement this past week and is resting at home. Im sure Ray is watching his wife work in the gardens, as he is layed up in a chair by the window. Hope you feel better soon Ray.
Well kids it seems like the new updates of the two new stores in town, The Gibbs Family Hardware Store and the Marsh River Co Op, will be for openings in August of this year. I know the Co Op was hoping for an opening of June, but there is still a lot of work to do. Either way our town center will be busy again, which ill be happy for.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Brooks Park Boosters would like to thank the following people for making our 4th annual Easter Egg Hunt free. Big thanks to The Jackson Food pantry for donating 1400 plastic eggs, to Susan Champa for the candy in the eggs, to Kris Beirne for donating the non candy items in the eggs and to Mille and Jesse Gibbs for filling all the eggs, and because of an accident they had to fill them twice.
Join us on April 30 from 6 to 7pm as Maine author, Tim Caverly presents Allagash Tails and Tales at the Mount View High School Library, a multi-media presentation about one of our nation’s premiere Wild and Scenic Rivers.
