This week at the theater. The Hamden singing group Voices Unlimited will perform one night only on May 24 at 7:30. Call the box office at 722-4110 for tickets.
Ethan Stubbs graduated summa cum laude from Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He received the Scheel Scholar and American Shipping awards as well as 2013 Cadet Chief Engineer. Those proudly attending the ceremonies were his parents- Bruce Stubbs and Jane McLaughlin, sister- Abby Stubbs, grandmothers- Louise McLaughlin and Theona "Pony" Stubbs and special family friends Dan ‘Jimmy" Mulcahey and Michaela Cowlette. Ethan will return to Maine Maritime Academy in September for an engineering design degree.
Gibbs Family Hardware
Looks like construction is progressing fast in town on the hardware store. the walls and roof is up and it is starting to take shape for its August 1 opening date. It looks so weird when you are driving into town and can see the roof up on the hill.
The RSU 3 district budget meeting will take place on May 21 at 7pm in the Mt. View middle school Gym. This meeting is to approve the school budget article by article just like your town meeting. All school district members are welcome.
Pies on Parade
The fourth annual pies on parade will take place on May 24 from 1-4pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. All proceeds go toward the 4th of July fireworks. Tickets can be reserved and picked up at Ralph's Café. Call 722-3236. MMMMM Pie!
The Brooks Action Group will be holding a bed race on Sunday May 25 at 3pm. Registration will begin at the Brooks Town Office. All teams must consist of 5 members and the fee is $15 per team. The race will be conducted in heats until a winner is awarded. Come on out and join us, bring a team or just bring a chair and watch. Call Jane at the Town Office or Mike at 722-3236 for more info.
