Don't miss the last show of the season at the Marsh River Theater, "It's a Wonderful Life, a 1940's Radio Show." Dec. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. The show is like being in the studio audience of a 1940s radio broadcast, complete with commercials. "It's a Wonderful Life" stars Matt Littlefield, Amanda Stover, Jen Albee, Sue Hall and Frank Champa, doing all the voices from the movie. The show also features two Foley artists, Donna Herkel and Susan Champa. Come on down and join in the fun! Call the box office for tickets at 722-4110.
There will be a community potluck on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Varney Building. Bring a dish to share with the group. This is, as always, a free event.
The Brooks Park Boosters Winter Farmers Market will be held at the Varney Building on Saturdays, Dec. 8 and 22. The market features local meat, baked goods, herbs, jams, teas as well as many other items. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is your chance to stock up on local goods for the winter.
The annual country Christmas concert will be held at the Brooks Congregational Church on Sunday, Dec. 16. Come listen to Christmas carols sung by your neighbors. You don't want to miss this Brooks tradition.
The Brooks Congregational Church Food Pantry is having a food drive. Bring any canned or dry food to Ralph's Cafe during the months of November and December to support local families in need. Food items may also be brought to any of the community potlucks.
Ralph's Cafe will close for the season Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. Everyone at Ralph's would like to thank their customers for a great year. The cafe will re-open in March.
