Busline League standings, playoff pairings revealed

Three of four Mariner squads secure top overall seeds

The regular season for Busline League middle school baseball and softball has drawn to a close, with the postseason here and the countdown to the championship games underway.

The first round of the playoffs begin for some on Monday, June 2 and for others on Tuesday, June 3 and will progress throughout the week. The championships will be on Thursday, June 12 at a location yet to be determined.

The final regular-season standings included:

South baseball — Great Salt Bay of Damariscotta 10-1, Jefferson 5-1-1, Camden-Rockport 7-3, Oceanside of Thomaston/Rockland 7-4, Bristol 6-5-1, Nobleboro 3-8, Medomak of Waldoboro 2-8 and Boothbay 0-9.

South softball — Oceanside 7-0, Nobleboro 7-1, Medomak 4-3, Bristol 4-5, Great Salt Bay 3-5-1, Boothbay 1-5-1 and Wiscasset 0-8.

North baseball — Oceanside 9-1, Troy Howard of Belfast 7-1, Camden-Rockport 5-4, Medomak 3-6, Searsport 2-6 and Lincolnville 1-7.

North softball — Oceanside 8-2, Hope/Appleton 8-2, Medomak 7-2, Troy Howard 2-6, Camden-Rockport 2-7 and Searsport 1-8.

First-round playoff pairings for South baseball, with times and dates included where available, are: No. 8 Boothbay at No. 1 Great Salt Bay, No. 7 Medomak at No. 2 Jefferson (June 3, 3:45 p.m. at Nobleboro), No. 6 Nobleboro at No. 3 Camden-Rockport (June 2, 3 p.m. at Camden) and No. 5 Bristol at No. 4 Oceanside (June 3, 3:30 p.m at Thomaston).

No. 3 Camden-Rockport defeated No. 6 Nobleboro Monday and will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of No. 2 Jefferson and No. 7 Medomak.

First-round playoff pairings for South softball, with times and dates included where available, are: No. 7 Wiscasset at No. 2 Nobleboro, No. 6 Boothbay at No. 3 Medomak (June 3, 3 p.m. at MVHS) and No. 5 Great Salt Bay at No. 4 Bristol. No. 1 Oceanside receives a first-round bye.

First-round playoff pairings for North baseball, with times and dates included where available, are: No. 3 Camden-Rockport at No. 6 Lincolnville (June 2, 3 p.m at LCS) and No. 5 Searsport at No. 4 Medomak (June 3, 3:45 p.m at MMS). No. 1 Oceanside and No. 2 Troy Howard receive first-round byes.

No. 3 Camden-Rockport defeated No. 6 Lincolnville Monday and will advance to face No. 2 Troy Howard Thursday, June 5 at 3:45 p.m.

First-round playoff pairings for North softball, with times and dates included where available, are: No. 6 Searsport at No. 3 Medomak (June 3, 3:45 p.m. at MMS) and No. 5 Camden-Rockport at No. 4 Troy Howard (June 3, 3:45 p.m. at Troy Howard). No. 1 Oceanside and No. 2 Hope/Appleton receive first-round byes.

The following is a recap of reported results from playoff games played Monday:

Baseball

No. 3 Camden-Rockport 8th 12, No. 6 Lincolnville 0 (5 inns.)

At Lincolnville June 2, the Schooners sailed into the next round with a win over the Lynx. Camden-Rockport scored two in the second, eight in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Leading CRMS at the plate were Noah Erskine (single, run), Braden Fisher (run), Lucas Boetsch (single, double, 3 runs), Jack Poutasse (single, double, triple, 3 RBIs, 3 runs), Conrad Crans (single, run, RBI), Michel Russillo (single) and Will Karod (single, run).

For Lincolnville, Ionut Lodge (single), Mya Wiley (2 singles), Aiden Roberts (double, single), Dawson Allen (single), Caellen Roberts (single) and Drew Kelley (single) paced the offense.

Fisher pitched for the Schooners, allowing eight hits and one walk, with five strikeouts. Daniel Peabody and Lodge pitched for the Lynx, allowing nine hits and six walks, with three strikeouts.
