Cal Ripken Youth Baseball League plays indoor winter gamesRegistration for upcoming season March 11-12 at Waldo County YMCA
Brewer — The Mid Coast (Belfast) Cal Ripken Youth Baseball League has played games in an eight-week series of tournament/league play at Sluggers indoor facility.
The Mid Coast U10 team included Brandon Cournoyer, Eamon Goscinski, Zepherin Leppanen, Jason Bartlett, Chris and Connor Fournier, Matt LaBlanc, Joe Baker, Sawyer Carson and Colby Benjamin. The team is coached by Scott Cournoyer and Scott Baker.
The U10 team lost 4-3 after a hard-fought game.
The Mid Coast U12 team included Ryder Wagenknecht, Jason Bartlett, Caleb Hall-Arnett, Luke Hamlin, Eamon Goscinski, Noah Jacobs, Zepherin Leppanen, Tommy Walker and Dakota Payson. The team is coached by Rich Wagenknecht and Penson Bartlett.
The game against Winterport was scoreless, until Winterport scored a run in the top of the fifth inning. Mid Coast put up four runs to end the game with a 4-1 victory.
Additionally, registration for the upcoming season will be Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11-12 at 5 p.m. at the Waldo County YMCA. Returning players can register online by going to the Mid Coast Cal Ripken facebook page and clicking on the appropriate link.
The league is open to boys and girls ages 7-12 who live in Belfast, Northport, Swanville, Lincolnville, Searsmont, Belmont, Morrill, Waldo, Searsport, Liberty or Jackson.
