A remarkable fall regular season on the high school golf links ended in winning fashion for two of the five Knox/Lincoln and Waldo county squads on Wednesday, Oct. 2, with one area team capping an unbeaten campaign as possible state championship dreams dance in the young student-athletes' heads.
Camden Hills finished a 12-0 season with a win over visiting Brunswick, while Oceanside bested Medomak Valley in a match on both teams' home course and Mount View and Belfast ended the campaign with losses.
Thus, Camden Hills finished the regular season 12-0, Oceanside 7-5, Searsport 3-4, Mount View 4-8, Medomak Valley 1-11 and Belfast 0-12.
Camden Hills, Oceanside, Mount View, Medomak Valley and Belfast will participate in the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B state qualifier/championships on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.
That will be followed by the state team championships on Saturday, Oct. 12 and the state individual championships on Saturday, Oct. 19, both at Natanis.

Camden Hills 147, Brunswick 183
At the par-34 Samoset Resort Golf Course in Rockport Oct. 2, the host Windjammers finished the regular season in style with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 147 to 183 for the Dragons.
Windjammer Daulton Wickenden was the medalist with an even-par 34. It marked the 12th straight match a Camden Hills golfer was the match medalist.
Camden Hills' individual scores were Wickenden 34, Drew Long 35, Julian Starbird 38, Drew Holt 43, Jared Garske 40 and Quinn Holt 51
Brunswick's individual scores were: Derek Devereaux 42, John Parker 49, Ben Lord 50, Cam Heatley 45, Matt Brooks 53 and Henry Martinson 47
Oceanside 173, Medomak Valley 196
At the par-36 Rockland Golf Course Oct. 2, the Mariners and Panthers toiled on their home course, with Oceanside finishing with a four-golf stroke total of 173 to 196 for Medomak Valley.
Oceanside's Reilly Flanagan was the medalist with a 2-over par 38.
Oceanside's individual scores were: Nick Mazurek 42, Flanagan 38, Zeke Hamlin 46, Griffin Lombardo 47, Anthony Dayboch 54 and Hunter Dinsmore 56.
Medomak Valley's individual scores were: Adam Wilcox 42, Tyler Emerson 52, Aaron Smeltzer 48, Cameron Allaire 54 and J.P. Lobley 57.
Maine Central Institute 162, Mount View 204
At the par-36 Country View Golf Course Oct. 2, the Mustangs could not keep pace with talented Huskies of Pittsfield, who carded a four-golfer stroke total of 162 to 204 for Mount View.
MCI's Trevor Kitchen was the medalist at 39.
The individual match results, with Mustangs listed first, were: Erik Larrabee (45) lost to Gavin Dugas (40); Ross DeLorenzo (50) lost to Carter Pearl (41); Cay Outerbridge (62) lost to Eric Dugas (46); Robert Dyer (53) lost to Kitchen (39); Wes Turner (56) lost to Dylan Watrous (42); and Cassidy Gerrish (59) lost to Parker Morrison (57).
Bangor 163, Belfast 197
At the Northport Golf Course Oct. 2, the visiting Rams finished with a four-golfer stroke total of 163 to 197 for the Lions.
Bangor's Jordan Treadwell shot 39 as the medalist.
The individual match results, with Lions listed first, were: Alex Fritz (44) lost to Rye Powell (42); Logan Mitchell (48) lost to Jake Ireland (46); Grant Starrett (51) lost to Treadwell (39); Peter Brunette (63) lost to Andrew Hillier (45); Doyle Bailey (59) lost to Joey Moir (40); and Josh Adams (54) lost to Cole Turner (42).
