Cannon plays Thomaston Farmer's Market
Thomaston — Belfast’s Scot Cannon will provide tunes to shop by Saturday, Aug. 17, during Thomaston Farmer's Market by the Thomaston Academy building, 60 Main St./Route 1. The market opens at 9 a.m. and the music will begin at 10 a.m.
Cannon sings and plays his own acoustic versions of jazz and pop standards from the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s, as well as his collection of mildly sarcastic and sometimes moving original songs for adults and children. The Berklee College of Music grad has toured the East Coast for years with his mime, music and theater programs for children and adults.
For the last few years, Cannon has been doing songwriting residencies in Midcoast schools. He also hosts the “WERU Family Radio Hour” the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m.; and has a children’s CD, “Walk, Talk & Mow,” recorded with help from his grandson Jack C. McCullough.
