Charlotte Wentworth Wildes Chase, 85
Belfast — Charlotte Wentworth Wildes Chase, 85, passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, in the Hospice Unit at Waldo County Hospital in Belfast. She was born on Feb. 5, 1927, the daughter of Zenaide and Lloyd Wentworth. Charlotte attended school in Brooks and Husson School of Commerce.
In 1945 she married Darrell Wildes who predeceased her in 1987. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Suomi and husband Wayne of Unity and Lois Bouchard and her husband Royal of Albion. She married Donald Chase of Unity and added another daughter and son-in-law to her family, Donna Chase Wade and husband Bill Wade of Unity. Charlotte leaves four brothers, Malcolm Wentworth and wife Evelyn of Knox, Lloyd Wentworth of Belfast, Basil Wentworth and wife Leah of Knox and Jim Wentworth and wife Janet of Belfast. She also leaves two important people in her life, sisters-in-law, June Wentworth of Searsport and Honey Wildes of Brooks. Charlotte loved her five grandchildren and their spouses, Marie Roberts and husband Richard, Laura Lecker and husband Donald, Steve Suomi and wife Joanna, Jennie Savage and husband Shawn and Leslie Parsons and husband Jim. In addition, Charlotte was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, at Brooks Congregational Church with fellowship following at the Varney Building. Private committal services will be held at a later date at Pilgrims Home Cemetery in Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brooks Congregational Church, PO Box 188, Brooks, Maine 04921 or the Thorndike Congregational Church, PO Box 51, Thorndike, Maine 04986. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
