Co-op seeks board of directors nominations
Belfast — The community-owned Belfast Co-op is currently seeking board of directors candidate nominations. The deadline for applications is Monday, Feb. 4. The election period begins Monday, Feb. 11.
The board of directors serve as the member-owners' representatives. Their role is vital to the operation of the Co-op. Board members set the goals for the organization and guide the management team in running the store by setting policy, monitoring operations and planning for the future. New directors bring expertise, fresh ideas and new energy to help keep the Co-op thriving.
Member-owners are also encouraged to serve on the Co-op's committees. This is another very valuable way to participate in and contribute to this democratically controlled enterprise.
Nomination application packets can be picked up in the store at Customer Service. Also, an application can be found on their website belfast.coop, as well as board committee information. Interested parties can also email the Nominating Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a phone message for them at (207) 338-2532.
The community-owned Belfast Co-op, open 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, is located at 123 High St. in downtown Belfast.
