Belfast — The downtown Galerie Dufour will host an artist’s reception of new works Friday, Oct. 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The juxtaposition of the nude with Maine’s diverse coastline is the theme for Galerie Dufour’s autumn annual, “Coastal Curves.”

From the dramatic to the serene, Maine’s seashore beckons photographer Charles Laurier Dufour’s artistic eye to create compositions that capture the very natural easiness of our relationship with Mother Earth. Simultaneously, “Coastal Curves” is a collection of visual essays on liberation, vignettes about freedom from the constraints of the social milieu. Exhibition attendees will feast their eyes upon photographs taken at locations including Deer Isle/Stonington, the Schoodic peninsula, Cape Elizabeth, Owls Head and the near and dear Sears Island.
