Community Library Christmas show
Lincolnville — Lincolnville Community Library’s author and music series will host its second annual Christmas program Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. in the old Grampa Hall building located at the corner of Heal Road and routes 52 and 173. This will be the last performance held there, as plans are to be in the new library sometime in January.
This year’s program will only help bring that Christmas community spirit closer and closer to home with a variety of sing-along songs, great storytellers, a puppet show, special guest appearances by Father Christmas and such musical talents as Caleb the Fiddler, Wayfaring Strangers and Will & Rose.
The featured attraction of the evening will be Lincolnville Ukulele Ladies Plus One, also know as the LUGnuts or LUGbugs. The Lincolnville Ukulele Group (LUG) was formed about six months ago, brought together by Pastor Susan Stonestreet and United Church of Christ congregation member Robin Guist. The players are mostly women, but not completely, thus the Plus One. They play ukes for fun and more fun. For the holiday concert, they will play and sing a medley of holiday favorites utilizing their ukulele skill, or lack there of, and a few props.
The free evening should prove to be a fun-filled one for the whole community, young and old alike. Donations are always welcome; there will be Christmas cookies. For more information, call Rosey Gerry at 975-5432.
