Starting in January, Craignair Inn served up gourmet burgers and home-made fries and onion rings in an effort to raise funds for the 4th grade troop at St. George School in Tenants Harbor.  The money is going towards buying manuals for all the Scouts as well as contributing towards their planned activities for the spring.

Craignair fired up the grill most Fridays January through March and the owners were excited at the number of guests coming down the peninsula during those dark, snowy evenings.

Craignair owners Joanne and Michael O'Shea bought the inn in May of last year and spent their first winter here getting to know the local community and raising about $2,000 since December for various local charities.  Benefit events over the winter have included a wine dinner to benefit the Salvation Army, Brunches for Georges Valley High School, the Montpelier Museum and the Knox County Humane Society,  a fun run/walk and pancake breakfast to benefit the St. George Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance as well as Friday Night "Burgers for Boy Scouts."
