Cultivate tour Columbus Day Weekend
Cultivate's fall celebration open studio and farm tour weekend runs Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free tour includes special workshops and demonstrations in addition to the opportunity to visit farms, artists’ working in their studios, see a forging demonstration or learn how artisans make yarn, soap or cheese.
Cultivate: Belfast Area Farm and Arts Trail was created in partnership by the Belfast Creative Coalition and the Maine Farmland Trust in order to celebrate the arts and the art of farming. Cultivate identifies artists’ studios, galleries, cultural organization and farms in Belfast and beyond. The weekend promises great family fun, and art lovers will get a chance to visit some of the area’s best artists and artisans and watch how they work, all in celebration of Waldo County’s exciting creative economy.
The tour also is active and includes extensive hiking and bike trail system that runs throughout the Belfast area and throughout Waldo County, winding and connecting. To find out more plus suggested routes, visit BelfastArtsandCulture.org/cultivate for full descriptions and dozens of locations with their hours and images plus a downloadable map. Brochures and printed maps also are available at the Belfast Chamber Visitor Center, 14 Main St., in downtown Belfast.
