Belfast — Monday night, Aug. 6, the heart of the city was transformed into an island-themed playland for the fourth annual Belfast Street Party.

This year's celebration took on a luau theme, with families donning leis, colorful shirts and other Hawaiian attire as they roamed to and from each attraction — the party included everything from bull rides and face painting to a climbing wall and a rat race maze.

Local musical acts brought song and dance to the occasion, and all along High Street participants could be seen hula-hooping, bungee-jumping and visiting many of the local food vendors that lined the roadside.
