Daniel Irving Hall, 74, of Searsport passed away Oct. 10, 2016, unexpectedly in a peaceful quiet manner at his home in Searsport.
Danny was a longtime employee of the Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad working primarily as a freight agent beside his father and General Manager Wilfred Hall and mother Rose (Flood) Hall. After the railroad went out of business, he applied his patient and meticulous nature to become a quality control technician for software company Down East Technologies in Belfast and then later Animated Images of Camden.
An avid fisherman in his younger days, he found great enjoyment in taking his son brook fishing around Waldo County and later his grandchildren "down to the Steamboat wharf" for mackerel. He spent many enjoyable hours doing research on his computer as well as staying in touch with relatives and his many "online" friends.
He is predeceased by his father and mother, and survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Carol Jane (Fraser) Hall, son Greg and his wife Suzanne of Monroe and his grandchildren Kate Hall of Brooks and Ian Hall of Winterport. He is also survived by his brother Steve and wife Ann of Belfast, and their children and families. He will be missed by brother-in-law Tom Fraser and his wife Betty of Stockton Springs. There will be a private graveside committal. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Waldo County Home Healthcare.
