A local favorite celebrating our 27th year.

In the heart of historic downtown Belfast you'll find Darby's Restaurant where you'll be welcomed by owner Jerry Savitz and his dedicated friendly staff.

Darby's was built in 1865.  The walls, tin ceiling, and antique bar are original. Gail and Jerry Savitz bought and restored Darby's in 1985.  Their thoughtful attention to detail make the environment unique and welcoming.

Darby's is a great "little” restaurant serving regional and international comfort food with a “from scratch” kitchen cooking with locally grown and caught foods as seasons and availability permit.

We're casual, affordable, and child friendly.  Our menu offers great burgers, local Northport rope-grown mussels, Hand-Cut Steaks, Prime Rib (on weekends), seafood specials, including Maine Caught Fried Clams with hand-cut french fries, and our popular pasta dish, Seafood a la Greque,  Big Salads, Soups and Chowders, as well as vegetarian and vegan selections. Also enjoy our daily Specials selections.

We make our bread first thing every morning and our desserts are homemade and delicious!  Jerry brought the Scottish Toffee Pudding Cake recipe back from the Udney Arms Inn in Newburgh, Scotland and it has become a favorite.

Our full bar offers a fine wine selection, a "Martini Line-Up" menu, Single Malt Whiskeys, domestic and imported beer with a good selection of Maine made brews, and gluten free hard ciders.

For non-alcoholic beverages, enjoy Eli's of Maine Root Beer and Blueberry Pop.  Or, for the daring, spicy Blenheim's Ginger Ale from Blenheim, South Carolina.

The art on the wall is by local artists and the pottery on the tables, by co-owner, Gail Savitz.

Our upstairs dining room accommodates up to 25 guests and is available for small parties and receptions.

Darby's is located two doors down from the historic Colonial Movie Theater and is surrounded by many unique owner owned shops and galleries including an amazing four independent book stores.  Our harbor, full of boats and kayaks, offers sailboat excursions and picnics in the summer.  We're a vibrant small coastal  town allowing our downtown shops to stay open all winter welcoming both residents and visitors.
