Darling’s “Turtle’ at the Craig Gallery

Unity — A show of oil paintings by Eric Darling is on display through March 1 in the Leonard R. Craig Gallery at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St., off Route 202. A closing reception for the show, titled “Walking Turtle’s Back,” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. The public reception is free, and refreshments will be provided.

Darling is a self-taught artist native to New England. After completing his first year at Unity College, he moved to South Dakota and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from South Dakota State University.

The artist’s personal interests and experiences influence his art. Darling has worked in the archeological field; taught and traveled in Asia; and possesses a strong appreciation of the natural world. He lives with his family in the coastal town of Cushing and may be reached by e-mail to ericdarlingart@gmail.com.
