Downtown merchant speaks to Kiwanis about marketing a small business
Members of the Kiwanis Club had the chance to hear about a local
success story at their meeting on November 19, as Patrick O'Brien of
FIORE Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars, talked about how a small business
can find a niche market in small-town Maine. With his wife Nancy, the
O'Briens opened their first retail store in Bar Harbor, before opening
their second location in Rockland. Since that time, the business has
grown and now includes internet sales and shipments of their products
all over the United States. O'Brien is shown receiving a Kiwanis coffee
mug, while Kiwanis president Amy Pease of Union holds a sample of the
vinegar and olive oil available at FIORE. Kiwanis members meet every
Monday for their business meeting, where a different speaker is featured
each week. FMI: rocklandkiwanis.org.
