‘Dragon’ lands at city library

The Theater at Monmouth brings its traveling “My Father’s Dragon” show to Belfast Friday evening, May 16.

Belfast — The enchanting children’s story “My Father’s Dragon” will be brought to life by actors from the Theater at Monmouth Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

The Ruth Stiles Gannett-written adventure begins when Elmer Elevator hears about the plight of a poor, mistreated baby dragon. He packs his knapsack with supplies and stows away on a ship headed for a faraway land.

Nothing will stop Elmer from rescuing the dragon — with the help of two dozen pink lollipops, rubber bands, chewing gum and a fine-toothed comb, Elmer disarms the fiercest of beasts of Wild Island.

This program is free and open to all theater lovers. For more information, contact the library at 338-3884, ext. 24.
