Drivers uninjured in rear end collision in Knox
Knox — A Bangor man's vehicle was rear ended in Knox after he slowed down to avoid colliding with a pickup truck he believed was traveling too fast to yield.
Jack R. Valles, 25, was driving his 2007 Jeep on Webb Road at 4:02 p.m., Aug. 9, when he observed a truck approaching the Bailey Road intersection. Valles told Deputy Daniel Thompson he thought the truck was traveling too fast to yield safely.
Valles slowed down in his Jeep to avoid colliding with the truck when Harold V. Shute, 56, of Montville, who was following behind Valles in a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck, did not notice Valles slow down rapidly, according to the crash report.
Shute's pickup truck rear ended the Jeep, but neither man suffered any injuries.
