‘Eat’ at Åarhus Gallery
Belfast — Everyone is invited to join Åarhus Gallery for its mid-winter exploration of food in a show titled “Eat,” which will run From Thursday, Feb. 6, through March 2 with an opening reception Friday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Eat — we all do it, multiple times a day. We spend a fair amount of our time on earth thinking about what to eat, when to eat and where to eat. There is no better time than winter in Maine, when everything is frozen, to cook up some comfort food for the proverbial heart and soul. Åarhus has gathered together a casserole of artists from the Midcoast to mull over their thoughts and ruminations in a variety of media for “Eat.”
Featured artists include Josh Carlson, Maryjean Crowe, Nicholas Cullen, Kris Engman, Stephen Florimbi, Mia Kanazawa, Lynn Karlin, Mark Kelly, Richard Mann, Toki Oshima, Wesley Reddick, Willy Reddick, Julie Rose, Patricia Shea, Mike Silverton and Susan Tobey White.
Åarhus Gallery, 50 Main St., operating under winter hours (February through May) of Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 338-0001 or visit aarhusgallery.com, where a slideshow of current works will be available.
